About the event

The Government of Alberta has adopted Tier 1 for energy efficiency province-wide for May 1, 2024 of the National Building Code - 2023 Alberta Ed. Join Chelsah Thomas, MEM, CHBA NZE EA, Integrative Design Consultant, from Sol Invictus Energy Services, for a Lunch and Learn on the NBC2020 Alberta Edition Energy Code. Sol Invictus is a certified B-Corp building science firm serving Western Canada, specializing in high performance homes and deep energy retrofits.

She'll break down the new energy efficiency sections and explain the new Tiered Prescriptive (9.37) & Performance Paths (9.38) outlined in Section 9.36. Chelsah will discuss the role of energy consultants in the building process, as well as the options to meet code pathways. Whether you're a builder, developer, or any sub contractor, this session will provide practical insights for compliance and sustainable construction practices.
